Meet Our Founder, Shannon Pesch

As the founder of Hometown Childcare, I take immense pride in creating not just a center for care but a nurturing environment that feels like home. Our center is designed to foster a family atmosphere, where every child is embraced as part of our close-knit community. We devote countless hours to engaging with the children and their families, ensuring that meaningful connections are formed not only between staff and children but also among the families themselves. At Hometown Childcare, we believe that the bonds we cultivate extend beyond the classroom, enriching the lives of everyone involved.

My journey to establishing Hometown Childcare was deeply personal. As a mother, my desire to spend more time with my children propelled me to create a space where I could both nurture them and contribute positively to our wonderful community. My husband and I, proud graduates of Laingsburg High School, returned to Laingsburg in 2017 with the goal of giving back to the place that shaped us. We are committed to fostering a sense of belonging and support not only for our children but for all families within our center.

Educationally, I hold a degree in Social Work from Western Michigan University, which has profoundly influenced my approach to childcare. My training has equipped me with valuable skills in understanding child development, building relationships, and advocating for families. I strive to implement these principles in our daily operations, ensuring that each child receives personalized attention and care. At Hometown Childcare, we are more than just a place for children to spend their days; we are a community of support, love, and lifelong connections.
